Booked Averof as it was the cheapest available hotel in Nicosia. However, we found that the staff were excellent and very helpful. We also liked the character of the property. Would recommend to other travellers due to cost and proximity to Nicosia town centre.
Some decor a bit dated E.G. bathroom.

Friendly staff, in particular the female manager and night porter. The hotel is located in a quiet part of Nicosia. From there you can easily walk to the city centre
The hotel room looks like a little old tight monastery room, with old furniture. The hotel smells very musty and should be modernised. Keep yourselve informed about the price of drinks. We paid for just one nescafe coffee and and a glass of wine 8 euro's.

Exposed wooden beams and wrought iron furnishings create a charming, rustic atmosphere. The warm hospitality from the staff gave the hotel a welcoming feel. The cozy lounge area, with its beautiful wooden features and fireplace, was a perfect spot to relax. The spacious rooms were clean and comfortable, with modern amenities like air conditioning. The hotel's location in a quiet residential area allowed for a peaceful stay. The continental breakfast provided a generous start to the day. The hotel's value for money was excellent, offering a delightful rustic decor that surpassed impersonal tourist accommodations. The convenience of free wireless internet in public areas allowed for easy connectivity.
Breakfast selection was poor.

The room is cheap and air-conditioned, comes with all the usual fresh sheets, balconies and excellent water pressure. All in all they offer GREAT service. All of the hotel's staff are especially helpful.

If going to Nicosia one more time I would stay here again. This well-maintained hotel is located walking distance to a museum and a palace. The breakfast is great with different varieties, boiled eggs and fruit, and the service is great.

Hotel staff are friendly, breakfast was adequate, wifi in public areas works well..
After booking confirmation was sent ,we noticed that hotel charges extra for aircon but this was not mentioned on website. I have taken it up with Booked.net who have approached the hotel.Rooms are small,TV was greek stations only and BBC World on satelitte was not working. Although double room booked, only one set of towels and had to call for extra set.Aircon can only start when you plug key fob in and takes about 10 minutes to cool the room, aircon machine was set at one temperature,no remote control to lower or increase cooling. It was not cold enough for us.It is OK for one night but frankly it is better to pay Euro 80-90 for another hotel nearby

charged extra for AC, which is a necessity in Nicosia. the location is not so convenient for touring, as it is a long walk to the old city.
